Let's go to Thailand!

It can happen so fast, and you're already in the next country. This time one of my favorites, Jonas is a bit skeptical. Let's see if there really are the announced hordes of tourists here=)

We flew from Siem Reap to Bangkok and then to Chiang Rai. We flew with Bangkok Airways, one of the best "short-haul airlines" we have ever had. In Cambodia, we were allowed to sit in the airline lounge in the morning, where there were free snacks, iced coffee, tea, water, etc. So breakfast was already secured! During the flight to Bangkok (which lasted only 1.5 hours), there was food again. When we arrived in Bangkok, we had a 3-hour layover and could use the airline lounge again. We were already full, but we stuffed ourselves again... after all, it was free=) And as it could not have been different, there was food again on the second flight. That was the first day we didn't spend a cent on food or drinks!!!

So much for that, now just a few sentences about our stay in Chiang Rai. Apart from the famous White Temple, there didn't seem to be much to see here. We rented a scooter and didn't want to miss the snowy white masterpiece. We were disappointed when we arrived at the relatively small temple and there were really countless tourists around taking one photo after another. We stayed here for a maximum of 10 minutes and then drove on. Yes, the temple itself was beautiful, but the crowd of tourists can really spoil any sightseeing spot. We drove out of the city and into the jungle. We found a great hiking trail that led to an even more beautiful waterfall. Except for three or four hikers, we didn't encounter anyone. The waterfall itself was already impressive, and when the sun came out and a rainbow appeared, the atmosphere was simply perfect. By the way, I got completely soaked for that one photo!!

Well, there's not much more to report from Chiang Rai, so let's quickly move on to Chiang Mai!!
