My 2nd day

Publicado: 14.02.2023

... starts at 5.45 a.m.

It's still dark and I first boil water to wake up.

I put on my yoga clothes, grab my yoga mat, and head to the lobby.

Chaminda de silva greets me friendly but reserved.

He will be teaching me yoga for the next few weeks.

He is Sinhalese and has attended a yoga school in India.

His main profession is office work, but he also earns some money with yoga on the side.

He wears white linen pants and a white tunic and looks very wise in them.

Being the first one, I place my mat in the front row to get the best view of the water.

Before the other participants arrive, we move the heavy furniture together.

Chaminda practices Hatha Yoga 🧘‍♀️

The term consists of the words "ha," which means "sun," and "tha," which stands for "moon."

The Sanskrit term "Hatha" signifies "powerful, conscious." This indicates that the exercises are practiced with strength or effort. The particularity of these asanas is that they strengthen your body, mind, and soul. This opens the chakras and allows the energies to flow freely once again.

The more intensively you practice Hatha Yoga, the more focused and energized your entire being will become. You will notice that you will become much calmer and more balanced both mentally and physically. Patience and daily practicing will enable you to shape your life as you imagine it and ultimately find fulfillment.

The exercises are indeed powerful, but it feels good to reconnect with myself. 😬

After 90 minutes, I feel reborn and look forward to taking a shower. Then it's time for breakfast.

There is Mukunuwanna Soup made from amaranth. The soup balances the three doshas, cools down the body, strengthens the nerves, and is good for eyesight. 👀

I will have it every morning from now on, maybe I won't need reading glasses at the end of the program. 😅

Afterwards, I only have some fruit. 🍉🍏🍊 That's all I can manage.

Not to forget, I have to take my medicine before and after. First, a kind of herbal juice, tastes bitter, then four green tablets. Warm water is served to drink.

It's 8:30 a.m., and I enjoy myself down by the water. Dosha tea to my right, my book and iPad to my left. And from time to time, when I feel like it, I go swimming in the pool. 🏊‍♀️

Karen from England, also a solo traveler, is sunbathing too. Otherwise, there is no one here. You can see some fishing boats on the lake. They laugh and seem to have fun with their work.

It really is a peaceful place, and I am very grateful to be here.🙏🏼

From time to time, Thamiya comes by and asks me, "Is everything ok, mam?" "Yes," I reply, "I'm doing well."

It must feel like paradise.🍀

Claudia & Ralf join me after their treatment.

Being old East Berliners, we immediately have a connection.

They will also stay for three weeks but will soon continue their journey to Indonesia as dropouts. They sold everything, bought a mobile home, and off they went. There is plenty to talk about.🚐

It's already lunchtime at 12:00 p.m.

We have rice, fish, and as vegetables, beetroot, yellow bean curry, Mukunuwanna, and ladies' finger.🐟

Beetroot contains a lot of calcium, ladies' finger protects against gastric ulcers, prevents the Heliobacter bacteria from multiplying too much, and protects against obesity and asthma.

Sweetened avocado juice is served as a dessert.🥑 Everything is very, very delicious.

It's now 1:00 p.m., and in an hour, I will entrust myself to Ashanthi.

In addition to a head, full body, and foot massage, I will receive a herbal inhalation.

A pot with hot water and herbs is placed in a compartment under the head end. I place my face into the opening and can inhale the steam. Yes, it takes some getting used to, and of course, one starts to sweat.🥵

That's why I also take a bath on the balcony afterward. 🛀🏻

Quite luxurious, I think, now all that's missing is the champagne.🥂🍾
