Day of departure!
We pack our things, carry our backpacks to the front and wait for our taxi while having breakfast. The driver arrives at the driveway, we throw our luggage in the trunk and let ourselves be driven to our LAST Southeast Asian accommodation. Upon arrival, we walk the remaining meters on foot as the alley where our hostel is located is too narrow for the car. We check in, settle into our room, and with our dirty laundry under our arm, we search for a laundry service and a lunch snack. We find both and then stroll through the streets and keep an eye out for clothes we still need for New Zealand - should be cheaper here.
Since we couldn't manage to get on a surfboard in Canggu, we go to the beach that we still know from the beginning of our journey, rent a board there, and plunge into the waves. It's just as much fun as on the first day, and for some reason, we feel like we've gotten better.
Completely exhausted, we drag ourselves out of the water, rest for a while, change clothes, and then go to another part of the beach where we want to meet with Lucy, our first 'host'. We sit down in the sand and observe the locals playing with the street or beach dogs.
Shortly afterwards, Lucy joins us and the reunion is, as expected, very warm. We tell her about all the beautiful experiences and adventures we have had. As it gets a bit chilly, we leave earlier and all go together to Lucy's and Ian's house. Jonna and I get some beer and food beforehand. Like 1.5 months ago, we play, eat, drink, and chat through the evening. In the end, we make plans to meet again tomorrow for a last round of games and go to our hostel.
