Happy New Year first of all, and no need to worry because I haven't been in touch for a while, I'm doing well!
December was tough, but I survived. Since December 1st, I've been living in East Vancouver, a district which is beautiful and diverse on one hand, but also run down with many strange characters on the other hand. But luckily, I'm already used to that from Frankfurt.
I live in an international community of 8 houses with about 40 people. Both my room and the whole house are in a pretty dilapidated and dirty condition. Yesterday, I even saw the first cockroach crawling through my room, but for $600 per month (approximately €400), I can live with it. Besides, I won't stay here forever, and I could use a little bit of company right now. 🦗😉
My current lifestyle is quite monotonous and exhausting. I work 5-6 days a week for 8-9 hours each day, I often cook at home, and the last three days, my father, his girlfriend, and my little sister visited me. It was great to have familiar people around me. I have to admit that I really missed that. And of course, I miss my buddies, my family, and the backstage area. However, that doesn't mean that I don't have a great and exciting time here. Because I definitely do!
During the holiday break, I had some time to rest and recharge. I worked on December 24th, but then I had a few days off and could enjoy my birthday in a relaxed way. New Year's Eve in Canada is relatively quiet compared to Germany, which could also be due to the fact that fireworks are prohibited here, so there is no real hazy state of emergency.
I'm looking forward to the next few weeks! The plan is as follows: I will stay in Vancouver until the end of February. In 3 weeks, my cousin Sarah will come to visit me, and then, if everything goes well, I will fly to Idaho (USA) for a few days and then probably to Toronto.
I'll be in touch soon!
