Today we will spend the day in Agnes Water. First, we will drive to the Seventeen Seventy district and walk along the Walking Trail Trailhead by the sea. We will reach the Bustard Bay Lookout and the Wavel Lookout. There are picturesque views of rock formations by the sea. Then we will walk along the Discovery Trail in Agnes Water and even see a small snake.
We will drive back to the downtown area of Agnes Water and have a wrap at an African restaurant. Then we will head to Main Beach.
Blinded by my great surfing course in Noosa, I really want to rent a surfboard and practice. Dennis is skeptical, his surfing course wasn't quite as successful, but he supports me and we rent a board at our hostel. When we arrive at the beach, the wind is blowing. These should actually be good conditions for great waves, but I am quickly brought back down to earth. The waves are relentless and without a surf instructor to tell me which wave is good to surf, when to paddle, or when to stand up, I crash into the water ungracefully. The board is also a bit too small and light for me, so the nose quickly goes under water and I am mercilessly pushed off the board by the waves. So I give up surfing on my own. Later, we go to 1770 again for the sunset and even spot kangaroos beforehand. Then it's time for dinner. Late in the evening, we play a game of chess in the hostel and meet two Argentinians who are currently traveling through Australia.
