After a 4-hour drive through a very green country, I arrive in Cafayate, about 200 km south of Salta. The town, with about 12,000 inhabitants, is located at an altitude of 1,700 meters, famous for its white wine and has a playful character thanks to its colorful houses. The main square offers many restaurants and craft shops, and wine tastings are offered. Allegedly, there are 360 sunny days a year here, which benefits wine production. The trademark of Cafayate is award-winning white wines made from the Torrontés-Riojano grape.
