Full of anticipation, this year's adventure started with a surprisingly well-organized flight. There was a small disappointment - the expected 'culture shock' did not happen during the layover in Addis Ababa, as we found ourselves in a modern airport. And so we landed in Uganda without any incidents.
Today, there wasn't a big program. First, we had to settle in and get to know the travel group. Our guide was supposed to join us in the evening, so we decided to take a trip to the nearby Botanic Garden. Here, we immediately got a taste of the roads we will encounter in the future.
In the Botanic Garden, we were able to shake off the travel fatigue, stretch our tired limbs, and observe a wide variety of animals along with the beautiful plant life. We saw all three different species of monkeys that are living in the Botanic Garden, as well as numerous birds and fascinatingly eerie spiders. The creepiness remained, even after we found out that they are not venomous.
Now we're waiting to meet our guide and peacefully enjoy the evening before we continue early in the morning.
