After a leisurely breakfast, we pack up and drive across the outer "finger" to our destination, Nafplio, because it is said to be a very beautiful town and market day is on Wednesdays.
On the way is Epidauros, which we of course do not want to miss. The theater there is remarkably well-preserved and the acoustics are simply fantastic.
There is no campground in Nafplio and the parking space at the harbor is not highly praised in the relevant travel guides and apps. There are some campsites in Tolo, which is about 10 km from Nafplio, and on paper we decide on Camping Lido, which is supposed to be by the sea and has the best rating according to the camping apps. When we arrive there, we are quite horrified... we don't like Tolo at all, the campground is in a miserable state, so we turn around and go back to the bay before, where there is also a site, but it doesn't have such good ratings. And once again, it becomes clear that you can't rely on these ratings, but have to see for yourself. The camping site Kastraki turns out to be a stroke of luck. It is located directly by the sea and is incredibly well-maintained. Martin is very pleased that everything is "nice and tidy". We can choose our own pitch, it's not very busy, so we naturally choose the front row with a view of the sea. In the evening, we go to the tavern around the corner, which is located on a promontory and has a great view...
