On Sunday, after saying goodbye to Sabrina, I set off for Cavallino, almost a 5 hour drive!
As soon as I arrived and connected the power, I had at least 10 mosquito bites! So I went to the beach and looked around! Very nice sandy beach... but it was too cold for me to swim.
The next day I set out and explored the peninsula by bike. And I finally ate spaghetti carbonara. It was okay but I have to say, my recipe is better.
Tuesday morning I wanted to go to Venice. First by bus and then by ferry. The bus was already sooooo full that I just thought, let's see when I can get on the ferry. It all happened relatively quickly. When I disembarked in Venice I just thought, okay, this is the famous Venice. At first I walked around a little here and there and eventually found myself in St. Mark's Square! It was really nice to see everything, since it was still early in the day (not even 10 a.m.) it was still relatively empty, but the line to the cathedral was super long. To be honest, I didn't feel like standing in line for 1.5 hours in the blazing sun.
So I walked around a little bit here and there. I even found alleys where there wasn't a soul. At some point I got on the water bus and looked at everything from the water side. I just had a bad conscience because I couldn't buy a ticket when I got in, so I decided to get out again at some point...
When I was back at St. Mark's Square 6 hours later, half of the square was under water. It looked like the storm drain had overflowed and I was standing in a puddle. And what was even worse to see was all the crowds of people. Where did they all come from at once? Phew, really bad! I then decided that what I had seen was enough for me and I would go back and go into the sea instead! Almost an hour later I was lying on the beach and reflecting on the day. It was nice to have been to Venice, I can now have a say, but I probably don't have to go there again.
For Wednesday I had planned a chill and bathing day to enjoy my last day at the beach before going to Salzburg the next day.
And I probably have 50 stitches on my body now! That was really very annoying in Italy. There was no desire to spend the day/evening outside on the motorhome.
