I wake up and I think I'm going to have a stroke! Aside from the steam, the sun is burning on my head and the temperature in the room is tropical.
Out of bed, out of the room. Everything is spinning, everything is moving. That's nothing unusual after the first night in Tuscany. But the heat is murderous. I sit on the terrace to relax and wait for my condition to improve.
The ducks of the house come waddling by twice as they go about their rounds. That's what I was missing - that constant quacking.
After breakfast, a little energy returns to the tired body and at least the first program should be doable. So go to the pool and lie in the shade. There are a few Italians there, but they don't bother you.
After a long nap and a snack (mozzarella e pomodoro), I play the new jet set sport "pool golf" with the inventor and game developer Illungo. 2 under par is the best result we both achieve.
In the evening we drive to the Taverna di Chianti in Vagliagli . Eating out in Tuscany always means the full program: antipasto, primo piatto, secondo piatto, dolce, caffè, vino e grappa.
So here we had crostini neri, ravioli tartufo, galletto alla brace, creme caramel. Everything was very good, only the grilled chick was almost too black. And the price-performance ratio is rather poor - EUR 130 for 3 people.
When you get home, you're stuffed and just go to bed. As soon as you lie down, sweat is pouring out of every pore.
