Hello 😊
Finally, another blog post from me, a bit delayed but there are two of them 😉. On my second weekend in Suzhou, I went hiking in the Mudu area. It was convenient that I could take the metro in the morning and then start walking. However, it was the hottest day I have experienced in China so far. It started off relatively mild, and I hoped to find a forest on the mountain where I could walk in the shade. Unfortunately, that was not the case, the first 60% was pure sun... I had to take a break and have a drink at every tiny spot of shade. However, the view was quite nice, depending on which side I looked, I could see the mini mountains or hills, or the city of Suzhou. It was pretty cool that it was an actual hiking trail without any stairs. It was quite interesting and exciting to walk, as I had to climb over rocks or let myself be guided down the mountain with a super Chinese safety rope at one point. The only problem was that the rocks were so hot that I could hardly touch them 🙈 but luckily it was shadier on the way down and it ended well 😊
After reaching the bottom, I lay down by a large lake, had a snack, and relaxed in the shade 😊 The next day, I wanted to go hiking there again, but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, so I spent a day in my apartment. On that day, my last roommate also left, so I will be alone in the apartment for the next three weeks. It's quite a change from having 3 people to just one. But since I'm a bit behind with my blogging, I can say that I managed it quite well. It's different, and now I'm looking forward to Janina's visit and then starting the big trip and having a vacation.
Greetings Lena 😊
