Today was the second day of our fjord tour. We learned a lot more about the formation and discovery of the fjords, as well as why they were named by whom. In the afternoon, we were back on land, we had considered taking a Glowworm Cave Tour, but it would have been relatively late, and we had to pick up the dog.
In order to get to the Milford Wanderer, yesterday we had to take a ferry, and then another bus ride. At the ferry terminal, directly opposite, a hydroelectric power station has been built, the Manapouri Hydro Station. Parts of the islands had to be blasted in 1971 for this. Several people died in the process. It is the largest hydroelectric power station in the country.
