A brief review of yesterday - we were all glad that we didn't have to pay for this tour and only had to invest time.
We did receive a very interesting piece of information though. We wondered about the many cats as a New Year's motif?!
In Vietnam, there are 2 animal species that don't match the Chinese zodiac and that is the Year of the Rabbit - it is replaced with the cat and the Year of the Sheep is replaced with the duck.
At 11:00 AM, we were picked up and drove 4 hours to our hotel in Phan Thiet. The traffic on the way was pretty crazy and sometimes congested. There is no highway in the traditional sense, the roads always intersect and everyone turns left and/or right, buses honk and overtake on the right.
The weather was cloudy and very windy. Upon arrival, we immediately got a 5-minute massage to relax! So arriving here is very pleasant.
There were many kitesurfers on the beach, which probably indicates a windy location (which I don't really like😂🫣). Let's see how that develops.
For dinner, we took a short walk along the road and finally ended up at a Russian/Vietnamese restaurant. The food (translated there were potato pancakes with salmon, seafood soup, and baked mussels with egg) was very well seasoned and delicious, but the cocktails were lacking a certain amount of alcohol. The girls treated themselves to a rolled mango-oreo and banana-passion fruit ice cream for dessert. To end the day, we opened our first bottle of red wine from the Reverie Hotel on the balcony.
