Boston Part 2

Publicados: 10.04.2017

On Friday, we set off for our big sightseeing day in Boston. We started at 9 a.m. at Fenway Park, the oldest baseball stadium in the USA. We took a guided tour there, which gave us a very entertaining and informative insight into the stadium and its history. Afterwards, we walked to our next stop, the Mary Baker Eddy Library. There is a very special exhibition there called the Mapparium. You can walk into a glass globe and see the whole world from the inside out. Then we walked to the Prudential Tower and saw the whole city from the Skywalk Observatory on the 50th floor. Impressive! After this beautiful view, we took the T back to the city center and embarked on the Freedom Trail. We did this with a guide who explained the most important events in the history of Boston and the USA along the Freedom Trail. This included, of course, the battles against the British, the Boston Tea Party, and much more. After the Freedom Trail, we went to the harbor and took a boat cruise there. We were able to take beautiful photos of the skyline of Boston and see historical warships like the USS Constitution and much more. After this harbor cruise, we decided to visit the Science Museum. It had some very interesting and entertaining exhibitions, but they were more geared towards younger children. After this visit, we were quite tired as it was already 8 p.m. So we went for dinner and then went home.

On Saturday, we crossed off our last to-do's in Boston. This included, of course, a tour of the Harvard campus. Afterwards, we took a hop-on hop-off bus around the city. Then we went home to rest a bit. In the evening, we went to the waterfront to eat seafood.

On Sunday, we went to the MIT Museum with Fabian's cousin, Julia. This is a museum that showcases interesting crossovers between art and technology. Afterwards, we strolled through Cambridge, visited the MIT campus, and then went out for Italian dinner.

Today, we traveled by bus from Boston to New Haven via Hartford. There, we checked into our new Airbnb.

See you soon,

Rémy and Fabian
