Today we take a little break

'985:15-on the road' in the land of a thousand hills.

Once again a little timeout for us - guided by a dialect poet, his wife, and a lot of enthusiastic and friendly hikers with backpacks and hiking boots.

We started at the Ubstadt stop; then took the tram (yes - it really runs here!) to Odenheim; here some more hikers were waiting. Uphill and downhill through a beautiful landscape to a small picnic break. Here, many cyclists were also training avidly. After all, the Kraichgau-Ironman will take place again on May 21, 2023.

The weather was perfect: sunny, but not too warm during the many ascents and descents. Wonderful views of vineyards and many hills called EICHELBERG. There are several of them here.

Near Tiefenbach, finally the Kreuzbergsee. Very romantically located with the adjacent KREUZBERGHOF. Hotel with nice gastronomy. After a successful strengthening including great cakes and coffee/espresso, it's time to go up the next hill - and down again.

After about 17 km, back in Odenheim, a last ice cream and off to the next tram that takes us back to Ubstadt. Departure from there is then individual.

Altogether it was 18 km and 360 meters of altitude at the highest point. And it's clear: where it goes up, it also goes back down. Good for the muscle soreness the next day. A very nice tour with many views of hills in all directions. Even if we were on the road without No.3 again - there were many nice people who share our passion for hiking shoes and backpacks with picnics and sun cream.
