Arrival via Ansberg -

Birthday trip

Today we are starting a journey to the east of the country – to Saxony-Anhalt. I would really like to visit the state garden show here.

We set off with accommodation that is 6 meters long and about 2.40 meters wide.

The journey is time-consuming; more than 500 kilometers is a long way. So we planned a stop in ANSBACH. A beautiful city with many sights. To be honest: who still knows the story of Caspar Hauser? Even though Reinhard Mey wrote a song about him. Almost nobody; even people from Baden-Württemberg are overwhelmed by the question. But the story can definitely be found somewhere on the Internet - or on a city tour in Ansbach.

We simply walked all over this beautiful city and took in the houses and squares. Today – Wednesday – was also market day. A dream for me. Unfortunately, we couldn't take much with us.

Finally, we found the hotel/restaurant SCHWARZER BOCK in the old town. A lovely restaurant. The hotel also seems to be very popular - perhaps because of the restaurant. They only serve organic quality from the region, and all suppliers are listed on the menu. They also serve meat from their own hunt. I treated myself to a bratwurst with potato salad and salad. It only fits in with an alkaline diet to a certain extent - but I don't have birthdays that often. The raspberry vinegar dressing was definitely alkaline!

Unfortunately, the castle was covered in scaffolding and therefore not very attractive for us. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to see the orangery. But this city has so many beautiful places - it's worth spending a day or two here.

The rain started again and we made our way to the parking space in Krumpa. It was also a very nice journey. Since I had an elevated seat, the view was sometimes very nice. The traffic was limited and so we reached the place before 7 p.m. There are two areas for motorhomes here; one on a meadow, very quiet, and the other in front of the EL RETIRO restaurant. Both belong to the same owner. It is very quiet here. Delicious food and a wine from the SAALE-UNSTRUT region. Rather rare to get; so I take one of them. Very tasty and very pleasant to drink. Then another attempt to find the lake - didn't quite work out because the sky suggested rain again. Never mind - tomorrow is another day. Before we set off for the State Garden Show, there will definitely be time to find this lake. This is how the first day on the way to the HARZ ends.
