We had chosen today as a lazy day. We woke up at 8:00 and went to the dining room for breakfast. After some nice conversations with the other guests on the property, we went swimming, took a walk, and read our books. And so we enjoyed the rest of the day until it was time for dinner. Then we had a wonderful phone call with Paul, Anna's nephew, and his parents. Such days are extremely important on such a long journey in order to process the impressions gained.
Manfred woke up with a strange feeling in his stomach and didn't really eat breakfast. A clear sign that something was wrong. For the first time on our trip, one of us felt so bad that he spent the rest of the day huddled up in bed. Meanwhile, Anna took care of snacks and walked over to the island shop. She enjoyed the peace and quiet in the blue lagoon and continued to work her way through her book, page by page. In the late afternoon, we both went back into the sea and cooled off a little. The average temperature was 25 degrees, so the high tide came in handy and we jumped into the blue water. After dinner, Manfred went back to bed, while Anna enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere under the beautiful starry sky.
As we were running out of ideas and had already taken the walk to the blue lagoon twice, our days started to repeat themselves. Breakfast, chatting, swimming, reading, lounging, and dinner. A very pleasant daily routine. Despite a still slightly queasy feeling in the stomach, Manfred also occasionally came out of the bungalow to enjoy the paradise-like beach. Anna felt like she read 5 books in the few days on Nanuya Island. In between, we kept writing on our blog to keep you up to date. Although these days were very relaxed and pleasant, we were looking forward to a little more action again.
Today was our last full day on the dreamy Fiji island. After breakfast, we wanted to explore the surroundings one more time. We discovered a crab sanctuary created by the village residents, played with the incredibly cute puppies, and took a long walk on the beach. Jeremy, the house dog at our accommodation, was always with us, accompanying and protecting us most of the time on the island. In the evening, we had another long conversation with the German girls who were also staying here. We spent the evening quietly on our terrace. We listened to the sound of the sea and enjoyed our last evening on the island.
