With the arrival in Bluff, a very special and impressive journey comes to an end, which has probably infected us with the 'Polar Bug': We have developed several ideas for further trips to the North and South Polar regions.
The 'usual' statistics say this time: We were transported about 6,500 nautical miles (about 12,000km), and during that time our photographing M managed to press the shutter button of her camera approximately 27,000 times(!!!).
The processing of the experiences will now have to wait for about 10 weeks - unfortunately, unfortunately - because now New Zealand is on the agenda. The plan this time is actually quite simple: We want to do EVERYTHING. GoogleMaps is a bit overwhelmed with that, so the route in the plan is only a very non-binding example - especially since we have the freedom (but also the torment) to decide at short notice where to go next. This is made more difficult by a cyclone that recently hit here, which has left some parts of the country in a state of emergency.
On the whole, we will take over our rental car in Auckland (North Island), do some hikes there (on this North Island), and then quickly head to the South Island (In the North Island plan: normal, light blue lines). We will travel the South Island from top to bottom and from left to right, and here too we finally want to achieve a significant number of hikes. In the end, we will return to the North Island (in the North Island plan: Black lines), but it remains to be seen whether and what we can really do there ... the approach is of course still: EVERYTHING .
By the beginning of May, we will have to make a detour back home at the latest, and until then we will report as usual ...
