Hong Kong / Bangkok / Trat / Ko Chang

The Chinese are really very accommodating and polite. At the hotel I was told that there was a couple in the hotel who were taking the same flight as me and had ordered a taxi. So I went to the room and knocked. Kind of strange, but kind of funny too. The two came from Estonia and also had to change trains in Bangkok. I was able to take a ride for 15 euros, save myself having to take the subway, can sleep longer and in the end only pay 5 euros more. That's what I call hotel service :)

My flight left at 8 a.m., check-in and security were quick. I spent the waiting time in a typical Asian lounge chair and stared at the runway. 😅 After almost three hours we landed in Bangkok.

You could find the connecting flight very easily and very quickly. Entering Thailand was interesting. Photos were only taken without glasses, then they took my digital fingerprints and suddenly I heard the sound of a stamp. Thailand still stamps passports, I love everything about it. For me personally, digital entry takes away a bit of the feeling of long-distance travel. In Hong Kong, even boarding was digital. You had to look into a camera and when your face was “screened” by passport control, the doors opened. Oh Thailand, you have already won my heart! You're still stamping!

The flight to Trat took just under 45 minutes. The airport is so cute, but the one in Emden is huge 😅. The suitcases are brought directly to the house by the plane.

The shuttle was available from the hotel and took us to a speedboat. Let's put it this way, I barely survived. How it flew over the water 🤢🤪. When I arrive at the hotel, I first have to get used to the customs here. When your paths cross you bow and fold your hands (this is called Wai), of course your shoes stay outside the door and toilet paper is not allowed in the toilet 😝

My room is a dream, you can endure it here. I will use the pool on my balcony this time, no matter how cold it is. At 31 degrees outside temperature it should be doable even for me.

Now I just came from the “city”. You walk for about ten minutes. There I got a complete meal with rice, chicken, vegetables and a drink for 3.80 euros. This is absolutely crazy.
