This short blog post is dedicated to the greatest occupation of our first 3 weeks, driving. As you may know, Australia is a very very big country. The direct route from Brisbane to Cairns via Byron is 2017 kilometers (Haha coincidence?) or 22 hours and 39 minutes of driving time. In addition, there are of course detours to national parks or campsites. Unfortunately, the route does not follow a beautiful coastal road as we thought, but mostly a straight and boring country road. On this path, we saw many dead animals, crosses with flowers, construction sites, and fields of sugarcane, bananas, or mangoes. Here are some photos of these countless kilometers:
