What can I say? Amazing landscape! Breathtaking views and so many options for great activities. I crossed the lake windermere by ferry and cycled all along the edge of the lake. That doesn't mean it's flat - it was mostly off-road on small paths and sometimes very rocky, a little bit like a MTB flow trail. Despite the packed bike it was good fun. I passed also two smaller lakes and I had a tea in Grasmere while it was raining. The next section was a climb over the pass on a busy road. The cars pushed me going up quite fast. On the other side I was rewarded with a nice path along the lake Thirlmere. The night I stayed in a camping barn alone with a huge spider in the corner. That wasn't a good night. Nevertheless the next day was dry enough to do a day of hiking. I climbed the Halvellyn, one of the highest peaks in the lake district. The wind was incredible strong and cold and the ground very boggy but the view was awesome. The next night a stayed in a nice hotel/country pub at the lake with a warm shower, comfortable bed and a great entertaining evening at the bar with 3 other travellers.
