We got up early and set off for Wadi Bani Khalid.
On the way, we passed by a zoo. The pictures on the internet looked quite nice...
When we arrived, the park turned out to be a rocky piece of desert.
At the beginning, there was a 5-minute tour through an exhibition of the animal and plant world. Then there was a video screening about animals that have been seen in the park at some point. Finally, we were able to see the animals live. For simplicity's sake, some of them were kept in an enclosure next to the administration building. We were also allowed to enter the enclosure. It was really nice to see the animals up close. But when some of the "Mountain Goats" snorted and pointed their horns in our direction, it was time to go back.
Then we had a round of coffee and dates. Then we continued to Wadi.
We arrived in the afternoon. We had to walk the last stretch. But at the end of the path, we were rewarded: see photos.
The path was not very long, but we still had to carry all our camping stuff. Thanks to a friendly helper with a wheelbarrow, it was no problem!
Like many people we met in Oman, he is a passionate fan of Thomas Müller. I don't understand why Thomas Müller has so many fans in Oman.
After swimming, we set up our tents. As soon as we started, an Omani came and offered us coffee and tea. But since the children were very tired and wanted to sleep, we politely declined. After that, we cooked our dinner and fell asleep next to the waterhole.
