Day 3 - Kristianstad-Kalmar

Opublikowany: 10.08.2017

After an excellent night and a very good breakfast, we hop back on our iron pigs. We will definitely visit Bishops Inn again at some point.

Next destination - Kalmar. We have about 202 KM ahead of us.

The weather is fantastic today. Blue sky, just above 20 degrees, perfect for cruising.

Unlike yesterday, we quickly got used to the moderate speed today. Everything is a bit slower here, and as we have discovered on our tour today, that's actually a good thing.

We drive along the country roads and for the first time, we realize how vast everything is here. It feels like an eternity until a vehicle passes us. Wonderful.....!

Again and again, the road leads us past small lakes, and the beautiful landscape forces us to stop. Well, sometimes we just don't want to continue.

In the picture on the right is the clean laundry bike, on the left is the dirty laundry bike (the yellow backpack we used for the ferry crossing was repurposed).

We continue, lakes on the left, lakes on the right, endless forests, and more lakes. We enjoy our little forest and lake tour.

Eventually, our GPS leads us to the E22. The highway is indicated for 35 KM. This means that 110 km/h is allowed... Speed rush!!!
We don't like that at all, so we stick to a maximum of 90 km/h and decide to leave the highway as soon as possible.

We continue through endlessly long forests and smaller towns. This great tour finally ends in Kalmar. And once again, lakes await us.

We are even granted a view of the bridge to Öland.

We quickly visit the center of Kalmar and have a bite to eat. Typically Swedish, we eat Greek... why not!

Now it's time to return to Hotel Svanen. Unlike our last accommodation, we are staying in a modern youth hostel here. But we still feel very comfortable because, as befits this fantastic day..... it's located by the lake!

Tomorrow we will continue to Växjö.
