We arrived by ferry and were immediately transferred to our accommodation in a jeep.
For me, this was quite a challenge. In our bungalow, there was wildlife everywhere!! I was confronted with large spiders in the bathroom and cockroaches that attacked me, and I couldn't really get used to it.
We started our diving course here, which I had gifted to Luki, and I was convinced to join by the Pirate Divers.
We met very nice diving instructors who were originally from Cape Town. After theory and preparation in the pool, we finally marched to Haad Salad Beach in full diving gear for our first dive. It was very difficult for me because the sea was very shallow and the coral reefs reached all the way to the beach. Plus, the gear wasn't exactly lightweight...
We completed the last two dives at Sail Rock, which we drove out to, and dove to a depth of 18 meters twice, exploring the breathtaking underwater world with our diving instructor, Jace.
We/I made it, and upon our arrival at the dive center, we received our Open Water Dive certification and a logbook.
We also received many insider tips and took a trip to a super good Italian chef's restaurant, where we enjoyed pizza and homemade pasta.
In conclusion, it was a nice short stop in Koh Phangan, in a somewhat horrible accommodation, but at an amazing spot where we completed our diving course and met the best and nicest people who will surely always remain in our memories.
Glad to leave our accommodation, we head to the ferry to Koh Samui, where we will be greeted by an acquaintance from Austria.
