Today was extremely hot again, around 36 degrees. We first took the gondola up to Blackcomb Mountain. There we went for a hike (Alpine Loop and part of the Lakeside Loops). There was still snow, so some paths were closed. The lake was still frozen. Great view over the Coast Mountains with snow and the frozen lake. The snow provided us with some cooling along the way, as it was very hot even on the mountain.
After an ice and food break at the Rendevous Restaurant, we took the Peak 2 Peak Gondola to Whistler Mountain. It was also an experience to float between the mountains.
On Whistler Mountain, we went up to the top shortly before closing with an open cable car where there was also a suspension bridge and a kind of Skywalk. Jette found it too shaky and didn't dare to go.
On the way back, we got stuck with the open cable car and dangled in the air for about 10 minutes. But that was just the beginning...
When we wanted to go down with the Whistler Gondola, we also got stuck. First about 30 minutes, then another 10 minutes, and then again. There was a technical problem, so they sent us back up from the middle station, where we got water and had to take the Peak 2 Peak Gondola back to Blackcomb Mountain - at least this time we caught the glass-bottom gondola and had nice conversations with other tourists ;-) Finally, we headed down at Blackcomb Mountain. About 2 hours later, we were back in the valley. What an experience. We've never ridden so many cable cars in one day ;-)
