Tag 112 - Jim's Hobbyhorse

I'm struggling through the day. The sore throat is very unpleasant, but I don't have a fever, even though it feels like it. I'm always afraid that I've caught some tropical disease, but it's probably just the ubiquitous fans.

This morning I had the weekly meeting for the project. Jim is still in the USA and Monica rarely attends these meetings. Keeley didn't have much to report and as always, when Jim's not there, she spared us the "moment of the week". That's really Jim's hobbyhorse. He even asked us to send him our most beautiful moments by email. He was very disappointed that no one took advantage of that. He himself always has something to report, something that touched him in one way or another. Even after more than five years, he can still be very excited about the same small things. We volunteers struggle a lot to remember a remarkable situation, and some confess, under their breath, to embellishing a real event to make it more interesting. You feel a bit stupid because the stories are mostly very similar. Occasionally, you can admit that you haven't had a special moment, but Jim remembers that. He won't let it go twice in a row.

The weather is hot, cloudless, with gusty winds, probably from the east. The next few days are going to be even hotter.
