Geiranger, Storseatfossen

Opublikowany: 05.07.2022

Wow, what a day today, we had a great campsite in Gjeilo and had a good night's sleep. In the morning, we set off and continued towards Geiranger. On the way there, it was only 5 degrees in the mountains, we saw lakes covered in ice, stood in the snow, and had an amazing view from 'Dalsnibba' overlooking the Geiranger Fjord.

When we arrived in Geiranger itself, it suddenly became 22 degrees again, really strange. We parked at a hotel and hiked to the Storseaterfossen waterfall. The hiking trail was only 2.9 km long but was quite challenging, it went up to 550 meters in altitude and mostly consisted of stairs, our knees thanked us :-D. When we reached the waterfall, we were rewarded, we even met goats at the top and were able to walk behind the waterfall, it was so loud and totally surreal. We camped right on the Geiranger Fjord, we just managed to get a spot and even got a free rowboat rental at our campsite.

We then took the rowboat out on the fjord and successfully went fishing. Jenny caught an 80 cm cod and Mike caught a 60 cm and a 50 cm cod. Since it was way too much fish for both of us, Mike cleaned and filleted them and gave some to other campers.

According to Jenny's watch, we walked almost 40,000 steps today and were completely exhausted in the evening :-D.
