After a two-hour train and bus ride, we arrived in Mirissa in the early afternoon. Our hostel was located on a side street, about 300 meters from the sea, and was very cozy (except for the giant spider incident). We immediately went to the beach and looked for a snack along the way. This snack ultimately turned into a full lunch of rice and curry with a beachside cocktail. We had to take advantage of the happy hour ;) After being well-fed, we found a shady spot and relaxed for the rest of the day. The sea and the beach were great. Big waves for the boys to play in, and about 12 baby dogs for the girls to pet. In the evening, we had a roti snack and fruit juices. After a breakfast of omelettes and toast from the hostel owner, we headed back to the beach the next day. True to the motto of play, swim, chill, we spent the day there. In the evening, we treated ourselves to a delicious meal with cocktails on the beach before continuing to Thissamaharama the next day, where the Yala National Park awaited us. Since we didn't leave until the afternoon and wanted to spend a little more time at the beach in the morning, but had to check out of our room, we ended up rinsing off the sand in the hostel owner's garden. Fresh and with rotis in our bellies, our journey continued.
