Back in Kuala Lumpur, it was finally time - our last two days together lay ahead of us. That's why we wanted to focus only on the highlights of this city and not be rushed. With our hotel at Pudu Sentral, we had the perfect starting point between Chinatown and the Golden Triangle, which forms the skyline with its skyscrapers.
For the first day, we only had one main agenda item - the Batu Caves just outside Kuala Lumpur. These are huge caves where some Hindu temples have found their place. On the forecourt at the foot of the ascent, there is also a 42m Murugan statue, which, in addition to the many stair steps (272), provides an impressive sight. In addition to the temples, you can also explore the deeper parts of the caves and see the wildlife in the darkness. In addition to many spiders and other insects, the caves are teeming with various bats.
By chance, our way back then passed the Petronas Towers, where we relaxed in the park at a café. The way back took a little longer, because we didn't expect to end up in such a large labyrinth of shopping centers. Safely and considerably poorer, we finally arrived at the hotel and almost immediately went out to the food street. What we already knew from Penang was available here in XXL and prepared for us tourists. Pure paradise.
For our last day, there was actually only the television tower on the agenda, so we could sleep in comfortably again. The 421m high KL Tower is the tallest in all of Malaysia and the seventh tallest in the world. Accordingly, you had a beautiful view (360 degrees) over Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding area. Afterwards, we took a long walk towards the Botanic Garden. On the way, we passed the Masjid Negara (National Mosque for 15,000 worshippers), but unfortunately could not go inside because visiting hours were already over. When we arrived at the Botanic Garden, we just walked around the park for a while and then took a taxi back. We treated ourselves to the last dinner for two people again on the busy food street. The feast was topped off with a coconut ice cream.
At this point, we would like to thank Marieke, Basti, Celina for the helpful tips.
Now we are already looking forward to the next flight, which will actually take us to our last country. In Sri Lanka, Lukas and Sabi are already waiting for us to continue our tour with them.
