Gray in all colors

Oh man, what a day, until now 4pm.

Right up front, I didn't ride with the huskies, as he said it depends on the weather, so it could also be that he only drives tonight.

I'm slowly really exhausted and also have a cold.

This morning around 6am or so, the German guy drove away with his camper...yes, there I was in the snowstorm at the end of the world. Where nobody drives because it's a dead end. I found that a bit annoying of him.

So first of all, packed my things calmly or rather as calmly as you can when the snow is coming from the side.

And so it started.

On the way to the main road E6.

There was a lot of snow.

A short time later, someone already picked me up. A doctor who worked in a medical center.

She dropped me off at her work and I continued. Of course, it took a long time for someone to pick me up, because there were only a handful of cars driving past.

Well, at some point I did get picked up.

A Romanian guy who took me to Narvik, because he wanted to cross over to Sweden.

As I mentioned earlier, the route was closed due to too much snow. Also on the way to Narvik, we drove on roads where you couldn't see anything because it was snowing and the wind completely blocked the view with snow.

Here we also have large orange posts and that's the only way you can orient yourself.

In or around Narvik, I was picked up by several people who slowly took me further out. Among others, by him.

I don't have any pictures of the others...but it was always just about 2-5km.

I walked on this road for 1-2 hours without anyone stopping. And then these beautiful different shades of gray, from almost black to white. Actually, I thought it would stay like this today or get worse. It stayed like this.

And then it started...then I was picked up by Jehovah's Witnesses, converted, and converted to Buddhism.

Oh wait, no, I got confused. We obviously had a conversation about God and faith, it was pretty philosophical. And it's really hard to find the right words in English. But because they were pretty nice and I wasn't "hostile" towards them, they took me quite far.

And the two of them drove back to Narvik. In the beginning, they didn't plan to drive that far out either.

Where I caught them philosophically was when I compared reality to a dream, how can you know what is "real" and "dream".

On the way to the ferry, they also showed me one or the typical mountain for Norway.

The top of the mountain is completely flat and has something to do with the Thor mythology.

At the ferry itself, there was the "sunset".

And the moonrise.

I have to say I WAS pretty freezing and really exhausted today, my body didn't get "properly" warm at all. And I thought to myself, hopefully you'll find a good place where it's halfway sheltered from the wind.

Yes, I found that place.

By chance, once again. At first, I thought I wouldn't get away today, Drag is such a small place and the only cars driving out come from the ferry. And today there would have been 2 more. So it's rather unlikely that I'll get any further.

But then he picked me up, it was also the 2nd car to leave Drag.

We only drove a short distance.

But a distance that was worth it.

He said that it's great here and everything and that he meets up with friends to have a coffee. Well, I went in to see how expensive it is. Because on the internet there were prices from 120€-150€ and that was too expensive for me. Regardless, I went in because I thought I could have something warm to eat and wanted to ask about the prices.

He was standing at the counter and talking to the reception (in Norwegian), I didn't understand much but then she went to the back. He then told me (in English) that he already asked for me. When the lady came back, she said 135NOK, at first, I thought I misheard. That's about 13€. Yeah, you only have to pay for the buffet and that's it.

And now I'm lying here. In the warmth, in bed without wind.

In the bathroom, I hung up everything to dry that was wet.

I also went to the buffet, they had make-your-own tacos.

And yes, that's meat, I'm really exhausted by now. I already have to swing my belt around my hips once so that my pants don't slide down.

And now at 7pm, I will lay down in the soft bed and sleep.

I think they'll have to cut me out of here tomorrow morning.
