Genoa is 2 hours south of Milan - just right for a day trip on a Saturday.
At 10:00 am, it's already 18 degrees in the sun - simply amazing after the rain in Germany. Spring starts 2 months earlier here.
The promenade on Corso Italia is already busy with sun-seekers and their dogs. Restaurants quickly set their tables to accommodate the unexpected rush. Tourists are hard to spot - the city still belongs to the locals. Fresh fish and seafood pasta with a delicious Ligurian white wine at Ristorante Capo Santa Chiara.
Then we head towards the center. With such beautiful weather, we skip the aquarium. Narrow streets alternate with impressive boulevards and beautiful squares, surrounded by imposing buildings.
The palaces of Via Garibaldi, which are considered one of the most interesting streets in the world, are overwhelming
it's no wonder that many of the buildings are now occupied by banks.
In Genoa, you can experience the sun, the sea, and centuries-old architectural culture in just one day.
