By train through Vietnam from Vinh - Da Nang

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ: 24.11.2017

After a tiring day in Vinh and the postponed receipt of our requested train ticket to Da Nang (about €13), we go to our room and relax, enjoying the comfort and updating our blog. The next morning, we go to the 3rd floor for the breakfast buffet and while we're eating, we're asked if we want to try to be extras in the promotional video for the Muong Than Hotel...? I'm ready for this and I think it's only fair after the discount we received for the accommodation. We continue shooting in front of the hotel and we check-in until the train tickets arrive, then we check out and take a taxi to reach the train to Da Nang in the afternoon, a taxi is waiting in front of the hotel and takes us 4 km to the train station (Ga Vinh), the platform is empty but there's a train being prepared on the adjacent platform...

While we wait for our train to arrive, I can use my skateboard again. After just a few minutes, I'm sweating profusely and I find it too dangerous to skate around in the train station area, so I disappointedly secure it back to my backpack.

The people on the platform start to move and we move as well. We see another European on the platform next to us, turns out he's a British man around 60/65 years old. He speaks very thoughtfully and seems a bit strange, but entertaining.

We get on the train and find our compartment and seats. As usual, the train is cooled down to about 20 degrees, which requires Adrienne and me to put on some extra clothes after stowing our luggage.

We still have 10 hours of train ride ahead of us and about 800 km from the main train route, which is a total of 1726 km long and runs through Vietnam from Hanoi to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh, who was actually born and raised in a village near Vinh!)
