After being awake since 5 am local time and unsuccessfully trying to fall back asleep, the day started with a hearty and delicious breakfast at Eggspectation.
Before heading to the CN Tower, I had to adjust my outfit a bit. The temperatures are actually quite pleasant right now, but the wind is super icy. And very strong, especially.
Going up to the world's tallest television tower from 1976-2009 with a height of 553 m took a bit longer than usual due to the storm. The view was spectacular and extremely changeable. Within a few moments, it went from radiant sunshine to a snowstorm.
Next up was a walk to Lake Ontario. I was able to enjoy the sun and watch seagulls from a wind-protected bench while planes were landing.
To conclude the sightseeing day, a visit to the aquarium was on the agenda - an absolute highlight. A must-see: the nearly 100 m long tunnel through the shark tank. Afterward, I couldn't resist the opportunity to touch a small shark, as well as the rays and have shrimp clean my hand.
After taking a rest and warming up a bit, we ended the day together at El Catrin - an excellent Mexican restaurant in the Distillery District. The chef was apparently one of the top 10 chefs in Mexico before he immigrated to Canada. And I made a new discovery there - I seem to like guacamole now. Who would have thought...
In the taxi on the way back, I actually paid with cash here for the first time. It's very unusual for me that everything is paid with a credit card here.
