#26 Christmas Trees under Palm Trees

November 26, 2021: Sanary-sur-Mer

F. After two days in the car in very rainy weather, we set off again today on the road in glorious sunshine. First to the supermarket and the hardware store, replenishing some supplies, and then to Sanary-sur-Mer. In this small harbor town, a lot of effort has been put into Christmas decorations. In the harbor, there was a fully decorated real Christmas tree next to each palm tree, and many shop owners were either decorating their storefronts with pine branches or setting up a Christmas tree in front of the store. The pre-Christmas atmosphere was slowly building up - even without the typical rainy weather of northern Germany and despite the many black Black Friday signs in the stores.

We planned to spend the night on the peninsula south of Hyères, so we had to pass through Toulon. We only briefly stopped here and explored the city by car on the coastal road. However, we didn't stay longer due to increasing winds.

In the evening, from our parking spot in La Tour Fondue, we took a short walk and saw some surfers taking advantage of the rising wind to catch a few waves.

Day 41 - Total Tour 3,098 km
