After a peaceful night at our accommodation, we calmly pack the few things we needed for the night because this afternoon we are already moving on to Padang Bai where we FINALLY go diving 😍😍😍
After storing our backpacks at the reception, we take a Grab taxi to the Turtle Conservation and Education Center in Sanur.
I must honestly say, I expected more from the center.
Actually, among other things, you can choose a baby turtle there, give it a name, and then release it into the open sea on the beach!
But there was no sign of baby turtles anywhere.
But we still had a few nice hours there.
The turtles that are being rehabilitated in the center are mostly injured on their shells or missing a leg. These injuries usually occur when the turtles get too close to a boat propeller.
Here at the station, the animals are cared for and healed, and when they are fit enough, they are released back into the sea. This sometimes takes quite a long time because the turtles that are missing a leg have to learn to swim again.
In the early afternoon, we then head to Padang Bai. A small cozy diving and fishing village.
After checking into our hotel, we pay a short visit to the German diving school that we have chosen in advance, in order to get to know the people a bit!
After a delicious dinner, we fall tired into bed!
