We rent a scooter for a day to drive to the Monkey Forest, which is 10 minutes away. I wanted to try out our student IDs here. But Laura was too quick at the ticket counter and I was too slow in searching. For all the uninformed... a kind person (not a crazy passport dealer) met two European girls studying in Indonesia. Since we Europeans all look the same, he sent us the ID and with some luck we can get the 'Local Price'. Someday we will surely need the IDs again.
Right at the entrance we already see a lot of monkeys and that doesn't decrease throughout the park. It doesn't take fifteen minutes and I was already hissed at and driven away by a monkey mom. I accidentally (I really didn't see it) passed too close to the baby monkey. Stupid... I already have so much respect and maybe a little fear of them. Towards the end, Laura was also attacked. Startled, I really didn't know how to help her. She just laughed and asked me to take a photo of her.
In the afternoon, we had food in the backyard of a temple and strolled through an 'Art Market' where about 50 stalls offer the same things. Then we meet Nik & his girlfriend Geli and go to a bar with live music. And of course, our professional billiard playing cannot be missed at the end.
