Jipi - first stage done - family reunion

Our last hiking kilometers as Sophie-Kerstin lie ahead of us. But before we start, we get a great breakfast from Heidi and Helmut 🍳☕️🍞🍏

and the table is full of fellow countrymen - except for Issy and his wife from California. It's a fun group, we exchange ideas one more time about who wants to go where today and if we might meet in the same accommodation in the evening.

We say goodbye to Heidi and Helmut and thank them again for allowing us to stay with them for two nights - Sophie is feeling better and we set off with breakfast in our stomachs.

We have already received a message from Anne and Stefan that they have landed safely in Munich and can be in Valenca around 3 pm.

Motivation for us to arrive earlier 😀 today we only have 15 km ahead of us.

It is a beautiful path from Rubieus to Valenca - we walk along an old Roman trade route, over very, very old stone bridges, past fig trees and through deciduous forest.

We meet Issy, his wife, and Claudia again at the first mercado on the way and we continue walking with Claudia from here.

The caminho is a great meeting place for people from all over the world 😀

Today it's very easy to walk and we actually arrive in Valenca before Anne and Stefan 🙋🏻🙋🏻

Valenca welcomes us with a beautiful city wall and a historic center.

Through airbnb we have found a small, sweet apartment here in the old town center.

So we knock on the city wall and are let in 😀😀

We make ourselves comfortable on the city wall and wait for the other two.

Soon we are complete and move on to the next café. On the way there, we meet Issy and his wife again, they are both happy to see us as a group of four - a few photos are taken and we say goodbye to them and wish them bom caminho.

Now we have until Thursday to explore the area as a group of four and celebrate my birthday tomorrow 😀
