After a wonderful breakfast on Barbara and Fernando's terrace, we set off towards the Pacific coast. Our first stop was at the Crocodile Bridge. The American crocodiles, some about 4 meters long, lie there waiting for tourists.
Afterwards, we went to Carara National Park. It's a mix of rainforest and dry forest (currently very dry) and you can find half of Costa Rica's species there. We saw monkeys and birds. We heard the local red macaws but didn't see them.
After another 2 hours of driving, we finally arrived at Diquis del Sur. Beautiful, but my dad would have said "a bit remote". Since there are hardly any tourists, the restaurant was closed. To the surprise of the hotel staff, we walked for about a kilometer through the forest to a beautiful restaurant "Exotica" and had a delicious meal there. However, we had to walk uphill back and fell exhausted into bed. The rhythm is changing. Up at 6 and in bed from 9. That's how the "Ticos" live here too.
