Day 14 - A bit crazy in the head...,
...but that's not why we saw a polar bear today. And it wasn't a mirage either, although it was pretty hot today.😓
The many impressions from two weeks are leaving their mark. Positive memories, of course, but also a significant strain on the 'hard drive'.😳 And so today we strolled through the resort town of Haapsalu, which was sleeping in the midday heat.🌡☀️😴 We quickly ended up for coffee on the shady terrace of the Kurhaus - with a view of the sea and an ice floe.❄ By the way, it carried a polar bear...🐾🤨 Art? Indications of climate change?🌍 The internet didn't make us any smarter, except that the bear has apparently been photographed before.📸
To reach our goal for today, we still had a bit of a way to go: with the ferry (30 min.) from Virtsu to the island of Muhu and crossing it, and then reaching the island of Saaremaa via a causeway.⛴🚙
Everything went well, we arrived in the main town of Kuressaare. 15,000 inhabitants, unfortunately not a lonely fishing village.😏 It's getting all dressed up, construction site in the pedestrian zone. But it's very nice by the sea.👍 Exploring the big Bishop's Castle was fun.🤓
Now we had a picnic on the hotel balcony. And tomorrow we will 'experience' the island more...🚙 Probably in the rain, but after so many sunny days, we really can't complain.😊
