Meanwhile, we are on our way from Cairns to Darwin. It is quite hot and humid here.
The first part of the crossing takes us between the mainland and the Great Barrier Reef. The passage is narrow there, and sometimes there is only about five meters of water between the seabed and the hull.
There are a variety of reef islands here, which only rise a few meters above the sea, and on the mainland side, there are various types of coastlines.
Of course, the best way to enjoy this is from the deck chair, on Deck 12, about 50 meters above the sea.
