Over hill and over stone

Hello

today we met with the others at 9 o'clock for breakfast to plan the day. While we were having breakfast, we agreed on the Ka'au Crater Trail, a 1 1/2 hour hike to a waterfall.

At 10 o'clock, I ordered an Uber for our group, which took us to the starting point of the trail. There is no bus directly there, we would have had to walk 40 minutes from the bus stop to the starting point and drive for over an hour, and we didn't feel like doing that. 😅

At 10:20 we arrived at the trail and took on the challenge. 1 1/2 hours over hill, stone, water, and a lot of mud. Because the trail is in the jungle, everything there is very moist, including the ground. The trail was more of a dirt path, there was no solid path (see pictures).

After about 1 1/2 hours, we arrived at the waterfall, took pictures, relaxed, and even the boys went swimming. It was too cold for us girls. 😅

After about 45 minutes, us girls started heading back, but the boys stayed there, although they caught up with us after about 50 minutes. 🤷🏼‍♀️

When we arrived back at the starting point, Lucy wanted to order an Uber for us. But then a really nice older gentleman in a wheelchair approached us and asked if we could plant his flowers for him. Of course, we said yes, we were already dirty from the trail and our hands were already dirty as well, and the man asked so nicely.

So we planted the flowers in the ground for about an hour and talked to the man. He offered us to eat with him, shower, and camp in his garden, but we politely declined. As a thank you, he drove us home (for free) and gave our group $30 and a chocolate bar.😳

Back at the hostel, we all took a shower first, we were really dirty and, let's admit it, we didn't smell good anymore. 😅

After that, we sat in the common room, talked about the day, and exchanged pictures. Then we had pasta, provided by the hostel (every Friday = pasta day).

Just before eight o'clock, we all went to the beach and watched the fireworks, which are set off by the Hilton Hotel every Friday. 🎆

After that, we returned to the hostel and ended the evening relaxed with UNO.
