After checking in at the hotel, it was necessary to change clothes quickly. The temperatures are at 32 degrees. On the streets of New York, it feels like 50 degrees.
First, we picked up our New York passes right next to Madame Tussaud's. The pass already includes various sights and attractions - those who know the prices in New York can imagine what the pass has cost.
Afterwards, we made our way to Bryant Park. The park is a small green oasis in the midst of New York's concrete buildings. Right opposite is a small Starbucks. Quickly got a coffee and off we go - just don't get tired and fall victim to jet lag. The 'Bank of America Tower' was also impressive. Here, money and extravagance seem to have no limits. The financial crisis long forgotten.
From Bryant Park, we marched to Grand Central Terminal. An impressive and very beautiful old train station.
We strolled around 5th Avenue a bit. Of course, a visit to Macy's was a must - and of course to 2-9 other stores that Sabrina was interested in.
Hunger was slowly starting to plague us, and honestly, so was fatigue. In search of food, we crossed Times Square. Since it's 'Fleet Week' this week and Monday is Memorial Day, the city around Times Square is packed. Soldiers, navy personnel, and police officers everywhere, trying to keep an eye on everything.
We found a small pizzeria that luckily had a table for 3 hungry people. The pizza was the size of a cartwheel and cost $35 ;D
Afterwards, we slowly made our way back to the hotel. Exhausted and knowing that the next day, with the helicopter flight and various other things, would be exciting enough, we said goodbye to the realm of dreams.
