Hello,
after three days we finally get in touch again...
On Thursdays we took the ferry to the next island: Koh Phangan. This island is known mainly for the Full Moon parties, which, as the name suggests, take place monthly (the next one would be on the 16th, but the accommodation is simply too expensive for our travel budget on that day - 2000 baht and up; there's still a picture of the buckets you drink to that). But the island also has a lot to offer in terms of landscape: waterfalls, jungle and probably the most beautiful dream beaches in Thailand. In the evening we went to the beach, where the party usually takes place.
Yesterday we first visited two waterfalls, which were located on the mountainous road. We drove over this road to three beaches: Haad Than Sadet, Ao Thong Nai Pan Yai and Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi. The first one was by far the most beautiful and we even got our own coconut from the tree - it was really delicious. At the second beach, we played beach volleyball with a mixed group of travelers and exchanged our travel experiences. For example, we were advised multiple times to go to Bangkok. Since there is a very cheap night train, we will do this.
On the recommendation of a German couple, we then went to a bar: Hide on High. As the name suggests, the bar offered a fantastic view (but you had to order something) and the owner also fit perfectly with the very special bar. (see pictures)
Unfortunately, our scooter gave up on the way back - the tire was flat. However, we were extremely lucky because there was a small workshop 50m away, where the owner's son (while the owner watched the very popular Thai boxing on TV) changed the tube for us. We just don't have luck with the scooters here L
Today, on the way to the beach, we made a detour to the national park here on the island and climbed the viewpoint there.
The highlight of the day was the trekking path over the mountain, takes about one hour and offers stunning views, not suitable for children and the elderly - in short: we managed the hour, but the path was really sweaty, especially in these temperatures. We only discovered the "stunning view" on the way back, but the beach was more than worth the walk. As we had to find out, almost all the other tourists came by boat... well, exercise is good. However, the beach was really amazing and the way back felt easier. In the pictures, the path doesn't look so bad, but in reality, it was steep, slippery, and even Therry was completely sweaty at some point.
As always, the last two evenings were spent at street markets, where we also ate, it's just so cheap J We don't have any pictures of that, we already had enough of them.
Tomorrow we will continue to explore the island and see where we end up.
Your TeriYaki
Unfortunately, our wifi is currently so bad that we can't upload any more pictures... they will be added later.
