On Thursday morning, we were picked up by the Interpol colleagues (the PSC on the Interpol vests stands for Policia Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz is the provincial capital) at 8 am for the tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier. The police chief (in the pictures with the short white hair) from El Calafate, who was also present at dinner on Wednesday evening, accompanied us. All the formalities, such as entry and others, were taken care of by these colleagues. The pictures of the glacier speak for themselves. After the activities on foot there, we took a boat ride to just before the glacier tongue. The glacier flows into Lake Argentino and Lake Roca. Both lakes are connected to the glacier tongue by a narrow channel. Both lakes are separated from the Magellan Peninsula. Lake Argentino is the largest lake in Argentina and the ninth largest lake in South America, about three times the size of Lake Constance. All a highlight. After that, we drove back and prepared for the departure on Friday.
