Iguazu Falls - today we were lucky and it was breathtaking!!!
There are plenty of waterfalls, over 200 in a stretch of 2.7 kilometers. Some falls are up to 82 meters high! The amount of water varies from 1500 cubic meters to 7000. Currently, it is more rather than less, as it has rained a lot in the last 3 weeks. The main waterfall is the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat). The falls have been listed as one of the 7 Natural Wonders since 2011.
In the park, you can also see coatis and usually monkeys, which we haven't seen. They beg for food from tourists but can also be quite dangerous as they have sharp claws and can bite. That's why there are cages where you can eat to avoid being bothered by the animals. Currently, due to COVID, there aren't many visitors and not many animals around as they have retreated back into the jungle.
Due to Covid, you can only visit the park with a guide, in groups of up to 15 people, and only 2000 people are allowed in the park per day. Before, anyone could enter, and according to our guide, it was a huge mess with people throwing things or throwing them down the waterfall, etc.
