After a cozy breakfast, we first went to Kiruna. There we visited a church that is planned to be moved in 2025 because the mining is causing the ground to sink.
We couldn't visit the mine itself because it was closed on Sunday. It is the world's largest iron ore mine.
After that, we continued towards Abisko. A small hike to the waterfall was planned there.
But just before Abisko, we found a great resting place with a superb view. We stayed there for some time, took photos, and relaxed a bit. When we arrived at Abisko National Park, we decided to take trail 4. At first, it was fun and the trails were well-maintained. After 3km, it became rocky. And when there were no rocks, it was very marshy. So we decided to turn back, just like other hikers did. In the end, we walked about 8km with wet feet, soaked shoes (except for those who didn't want to wear hiking shoes 😉), and slightly less good mood.
Afterwards, we all had an ice cream (just one from the supermarket), and everything was fine again.
After a short discussion, we decided to continue driving. We wanted to reach Norway. Where exactly, we wanted to decide spontaneously.
In the end, we ended up in a beautiful spot in Sorøy. Then we cooked noodles and tried our luck with fishing a few times. But when it stays bright day and night, and you have to experience it yourself, you completely lose track of time. Suddenly it was almost 24:00... And we said: Good night 😴
