It is now Saturday, August 10, 2019. It is late afternoon as we continue our rooftop tent journey from the city center of Hamburg to our next destination. We sit in our car, our home, and stand on the highway, singing along to the radio song, taking selfies. We think of grandpa, my father, whose WhatsApp I terribly miss, in which he wishes us a safe journey, talking about the weather. Which, by the way, accompanies us today with sun and wind. Hamburg welcomed us with heavy traffic, so we find ourselves in traffic again, as a farewell greeting. We are on the A1 towards Münster. The long-awaited navigation system hint of 'exit ahead' is dragging like chewing gum. The 60km/h sign in front of our eyes seems more like a standstill than a speed limit. It looks deep into my eyes: '60km/h'... I see a malfunction in this sign when such a standstill prevails on the highway at this junction. A traffic jam that seems to have not cleared since last night. So I make fun of this sign. 'Stay on the right.' says the cheerful GPS again. I reply: 'We're not from Hamburg. We're staying on the right side!' :-))
We are delighted when, after 36 songs, several periods of sleep and breaks, we pass the town sign of Münster. We have made progress, yay!! As beautiful as Hamburg was: 'Hamburg, definitely until next time, hello Münster!' We turn and are almost at the campsite. We feel a bit uncomfortable without food for tonight, because we are not fasting. Luckily, a supermarket appears. 8 minutes before closing time, my son and I rush into the store to provide ourselves with a well-deserved dinner. We better stock up on breakfast as well. Because we have learned that not every campsite has a furniture store that offers cheap meals :-) Hamburg branch, thank you again for that.
It is after 8 pm and we arrive at the Münster Camping Site on the banks of the Werse.
The entrance is very nice and well-maintained, the children discover some play areas here and there, colorful flowers everywhere, cute garden decorations at every corner, pictures, affectionate signs, lush green hedges... Kitsch greets us, we are already warmly welcomed and the weather is ideal.
We have completed the bureaucracy at the reception. We decide to stay for three nights. An attentive camper leads us to our pitch without being asked. It is early evening, the campers are sitting at their tables, so late arrivals probably stand out, I think. We turn and find our pitch. The other 5 motorhomes already there look at us. My husband parks according to the instructions on the leaflet and we have made it again. Wow, we are in Münster. The kilometers driven and the many impressions so far are now present before my eyes. I linger on a camping chair. Trying to hang in it, this wonderfully beautiful seating....
'Go forth in safety, you have good guidance'... A taste of Part 2.
In this sense. Greetings! Yours, Anja
