Namibia 2024: Relaxing in the desert

Today we have to leave Wolwedans.

On the one hand we are sad about it, but on the other hand we know that there is still a lot to experience on our journey.

So we pack our backpack full of unforgettable moments.

Nobody can take these experiences away from us.

But Uli still has one highlight for our girls!!

On the top on the Landcruiser off-road to check out!

We load our luggage into the car and say a warm goodbye to the Wolwedans staff, which almost feels like friendship!

Today we actually only have about 100km ahead of us.

Carsten takes the wheel today.

Susi is the co-pilot.

For the first 10 kilometers to the “main road” through the deep sand, Carsten cuts a mega confident track with the Toyota.

The main road, however, is in such a desolate state that it is rattling all the time. Hard longitudinal bumps at short intervals make driving a real challenge. Carsten has to fight hard to keep our Toyota on course.

The road is simply broken!

After a short but tiring drive we pass the gate of the Hoodia Dessert Lodge.

There we are welcomed from afar, already waving, super friendly😍

The lodge is decorated with so much attention to detail that you will find yourself standing in the lobby with your mouth open.

After an extensive tour of the lodge, we decide to have lunch on the terrace.

After that we will relax until dinner and work on our blog!

After the fantastic dinner we have another Amarula and then go to bed.

There will be action again tomorrow morning and the alarm will go off at 5:20 a.m.!
