Unfortunately, our time in northern Thailand is already over, today we're heading south! We met such nice families at Joy's Guesthouse in the last few days that we would have liked to stay longer - but the flight was booked, so we had to say goodbye. But who knows, maybe we'll meet again on the journey. The others are also staying for 3 months! 😊
So, now let's talk about the daily routine! We were woken up slightly abruptly today. I knew there were cockroaches here, but having them run over the bed in the morning, well, that just didn't register in my mind! Well, it had one advantage, I was wide awake in an instant! :-D
The journey to the airport and the first part of the flight to Bangkok were relatively uneventful. The second part, however, was quite eventful. We had a propeller plane for the flight from Bangkok to Ranong. That was somehow exciting. But when the plane turned around on the runway after landing to get to the gate, I was already wondering. When we got off, it became clear to me why. We were the only ones on the entire airport! We walked across the tarmac to reach the tiny airport building. There was only one baggage carousel, so at least we didn't have to search for long :-)
There were no taxis at the airport either. So we got on the bus, which was a mix of taxi and public transportation. After an hour's drive to various accommodations, we were finally dropped off at our hostel. Surprisingly, everything went smoothly again.
The reception at the hostel was very warm. Since they couldn't offer us a hot meal anymore (it was already around half past 8), the host even drove us to the supermarket so we could quickly buy something. Now that's what I call service! We had dinner at the hotel and then relaxed and chatted with the people who were also there.
Unfortunately, it seems that this time I didn't pay attention to having a private bathroom when booking🙈 so we're using a shared bathroom on a higher floor! An experience I could have done without 🙈
Tomorrow morning we'll take the ferry and head to Koh Phayam. We'll keep you posted...
