The alarm clock rang at 5 o'clock, just in time for sunrise. The German, Rebecca, didn't feel very well, so I only went with the French, Pierrette. We walked to a pagoda to have a good view. However, many other people had the same idea. It was quite crowded. But the illuminated clouds and the many hot air balloons in the sky were consolation enough, even for getting up early.
Afterwards, I booked the transfer to Mount Popa, where there was a monastery on the mountain. Before that, there was time for breakfast and a nap. I could feel the 700 steps, my legs were trembling a little. I was a bit surprised because I don't normally experience this. Maybe the lack of exercise is starting to show. I had lunch with the two girls and visited a few more pagodas. For the sunset, we even climbed a ruin for a higher view. That was beautiful!
